Docência na educação infantil:
motivações, desafios e possibilidades para uma educação antirracista desde a creche

This article synthesizes the results of a masters research developed in the Post-Graduation Program in Education of the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCAR, in the Portuguese acronym), Sorocaba Campus, concluded in 2019. The research’s focus was on analyzing teaching conceptions concerning ethnic-racial education oriented subjects in early childhood education of the public educational system of Sorocaba (SP). Based on qualitative methodology, the research had as its theoretical basis the childhood studies in interaction with works related to the education of ethnic-racial education in Brazil. Firstly, questionnaires were used as methodological strategies; on a later stage, semi-structured interviews were conducted from motivating bases and from possibilities and challenges for the implementation of ethnic-racial education oriented practices, referring to the goals and deadlines instituted by Municipal Education Plan (from 2015 to 2025). The analysis indicates that permanent actions of training and collective proposals in school units present themselves as challenges. The research also points out that teachers, the major part of them being black woman, demonstrate greater commitment not only in dialoguing about the subject, but also in affording for themselves the search for studying material, training and references in order to develop their work.
