Abstract

the article seeks to identify how the sociology textbooks conceive the denaturalization of explanations about social reality. To this end, in the light of the analysis of the discourse of Pecheutian affiliation, anchored in historical-dialectical materialism, it is analyzed the discourse of the six sociology textbooks approved and recommended by the 2015 National Textbook Program on denaturalization as an epistemological principle. Throughout the study, it is demonstrated that the sociology textbooks materialize a discourse that is silent about the existence of naturalizing explanations of social reality located also in the field of philosophy and science. Thus, it is concludes by stating that, when proceeding in this way, the sociology textbooks end up aligning with the Scientific Ideological Formation, represented in language by the Positivist Discursive Formation, according to which science is not only a form of knowledge, but the only truly valid way.
