O Papel do professor na sociedade na visão dos acadêmicos de licenciatura em história

The present study aims to analyze what is the understanding of academics and students of the 4th grade (morning and evening) of the History Degree course at a state university about how the professor acts today and what his role is, as well as the society's reception of these professionals' duties. To this end, the students answered the question: “For you, what is the role that the teacher plays in today's society?”, Which is part of the isolated research questionnaire (PqI) of the professor Maria Paula Costa. The education scenario in Brazil has undergone sharp changes in recent years with the rise of neoliberal policies and with the devaluation of the teacher, which was identified by Taffarel and Neves (2019). Therefore, recognizing that there are new obstacles to education - and consequently to the teaching of history - it is essential to carefully analyze the desires and afflictions of the trainees and the trainees of the History Degree courses.
