This text is an excerpt from a research, which focuses on the teacher´s teaching know-how of high school education. In the specific case of this article, partial results are presented whose objective was to identify the impacts of the Corona virus Pandemic (COVID-19) on teachers' teacher´s teaching know-how. In view of the social isolation necessary to control the pandemic, in line with the guidelines of the National Health Organization, the Secretary of Education of the State of Goiás, through Resolution CEE / CP n. 02/2020, which provides for the special regime of non-face-to-face classes within the Educational System of the State of Goiás, adopted the format of remote classes, mediated by Digital Technologies of Information and Communication (TDIC). This format is unprecedented for teachers of Basic Education, considering that, before the pandemic, they used DICT only as pedagogical support, especially, through digital tools to assist in the presentation of content. In this qualitative research, the (auto) biographical narratives were used as a data collection procedure, observing the narratives of the researchers, recorded in a field diary, and the narratives of four professors in the areas of Languages, Human Sciences, Life Sciences Nature and Mathematics, collected through interviews. The results indicate that one of the greatest challenges for teachers was to adapt to the needs of remote education, as they did not have the necessary knowledge to understand all the specifics of applications and virtual platforms in the teaching-learning process; another worrying factor was reaching all students, making everyone participate in remote education. It was also noticed that teachers needed to reinvent their teaching skills in the face of challenges with remote classes, acquire new knowledge to deal with the different technological artifacts in the process of mediation of student learning, signaling that the teacher's teaching skills are a constant metamorphosis.
Key words: Remote teaching. Knowing how to teach. Technology-mediated teaching.
