The concept of Scientific community for Robert King Merton and Thomas Samuel Kuhn its implications to the scientific and technological education.

This article aims to relate the concepts of "scientific community" that has central role Robert King Merton’s and Thomas Kuhn’s jobs, and make some contributions to the overcoming of naive conceptions about scientific and technological activity in Scientific and Technological Education. The aforementioned theorists are contemporary and held a dialogue in the American academic world, however their approach of the term "scientific community" have specific situation. While Merton emphasizes the integration of the scientific community through institutional values, Kuhn defends the integration of scientists through shared cognitive standards. The article presents a brief overview of the theoretical basis of both authors, their similarities and differences.
