Ações e estratégias do Instituto Federal do Norte de Minas Gerais durante a pandemia do COVID-19, em 2020

The COVID-19 emerged in China at the end of 2019, and reached Brazil at the beginning of 2020. The virus has spread, infecting thousands of people and negatively affecting several sectors, including the Federal Institutes. In this work was to analyze the panorama of strategies and actions carried out in 2020 by the Instituto Federal do Norte de Minas Gerais (IFNMG), regarding access to education and extension projects aimed at the COVID-19 pandemic. The information was obtained from publications on the Official Portal of IFNMG and its Campi. The following strategies and actions were analyzed: the date of the first information on COVID-19, the suspension and return of teaching activities at IFNMG; student retention and non-evasion actions, as well as preparation for the remote return from school activities; the organization of information regarding the Non-Attendance Activities (NAA) on the Campi sites, and the Extension actions aimed at confronting COVID-19 in 2020. Reactions to the suspension of teaching activities and support actions for teachers and students, for the non-presential return of teaching activities on the IFNMG Campi took place in an orderly fashion in 2020. The outreach activities developed by the IFNMG met, in an emergency manner, the social demands imposed by the pandemic. The information on the IFNMG portals regarding the remote return from school activities was heterogeneous, with the need for standardization and guidance for publications. The IFNMG adapted to the crisis caused by the COVID -19 pandemic in 2020, creating strategies and actions to promote education, extension and management, fulfilling its social function and its responsibilities in relation to policies, practices for inclusion and for overcoming social inequalities of its internal and external audiences.
