Perspectivas sobre protocolos de biossegurança para a realização de aulas práticas em laboratórios

The pandemic scenario caused by the SARS-COV-2 coronavirus, has led the institutions worldwide to close their doors and end face-to-face activities, in order to reduce the spread of the new coronavirus and thus contain the pandemic's progress. Brazil, being one of the countries most affected by this new global emergency, following the line adopted by other countries suspended face-to-face activities of educational institutions for an indefinite period. In order to try to reduce the damage caused by the suspension of calendars and to continue the teaching activities, an alternative modality of education was implemented, focusing on remote education based on the use of digital platforms as well supportive digital tools. However, concerning practical activities, intrinsic to medical training, the follow-up of educational activities via emergency remote education is insufficient to meet the demands of the future health professional, and may have a high adverse impact in their training. Thus, this article addresses the issue within the context of medical graduation at the Federal University of Jataí and proposes biosafety protocols - with regard to individual protection measures, the use of university spaces and the organization for carrying out practical activities in laboratories - which can be implemented in return planning as face-to-face activities in Higher Education Institutions, in order to ensure the safety of the academic community and educational excellence.
