Abstract - Objective: to identify risk factors in urinary tract infection in women; To describe nursing care in the face of urinary tract infection. Methodology: exploratory, bibligráfico study with integrative analysis, qualitative of the literature available in conventional and virtual libraries. Urinary tract infection can be defined as bacterial colonization of urine, which results in infection of the structures of the urinary tract - from the kidney to the urethral meatus. It may manifest clinically in various ways, depending on the committed sector of the urinary tract and the intensity of these manifestations will also be variable, according to associated factors. From the identification of the risk factors, it is possible to analyze them and identify which are the most predisposing to the development of UTIs in women and how health promotion actions can be thought through educational practices. The quality of nursing care has been discussed and shared for some time, mainly due to the growing awareness that it is a fundamental requirement for the economic survival of health institutions, as well as being an ethical, professional and social responsibility. One way of prevention is through the evaluation of the quality of care practices by the formulation of clinical indicators. Final considerations: It is necessary to develop clinical research on the treatment of urinary tract infection by nurses, aiming to provide scientific evidence for the basis of this practice, since this is a promising area of ??action of the nurse.
