Disposição inadequada de resíduos sólidos no perímetro urbano de caiapônia (go) e sua associação com a dengue

ABSTRACT

The population disorderly growth and the development of society are factors that directly affect the increase in solid waste generation. The National Solid Waste Policy reports that the management of this waste must be carried out in an integrated manner that is adaptable to each type of waste generated, since irregular disposal, besides affecting the environment, causes public health problems. The present work had as objective to identify and to raise the environmental problems, coming from the dump of the municipality of Caiapônia - GO. Therefore, a methodology was adopted, including the carrying out of on-site visits and the collection of information on the location and characteristics of the study object. It was found that the landfill is an environmental and social problem and that measures should be taken in an emergency. Among them, the construction of a landfill would be the most viable solution. With surveys carried out over four years it was possible to detect degradation processes to the environment, probably caused by the inadequate disposition of the residues and as a solution was presented the construction of the Landfill of the municipality of Caiapônia, in order to make the adequate disposal of the waste produced in the municipality.
