Condições de trabalho e o perfil de saúde dos docentes da educação superior

Objective: To describe the working conditions and the health profile of Higher Education teachers working in the Serra Gaúcha region, Materials and Methods: This is an analytical descriptive study of a quantitative nature involving 28 teachers who work in different institutions of higher education. The data collection took place through a self-administered instrument, made available virtually. later, the data were analyzed in a descriptive way. The study took place only after approval by the ethics committee of the Virvi Ramos Cultural and Scientific Association and respecting resolution 466 of 2012. Results: the research indicates predominance of the female gender, the level of education that stands out is the master's degree, the most frequent hiring regime is the hourly, a large part of the respondents perform other paid activity besides teaching, among health complaints, the nervousness, musculoskeletal pain and digestive problems are the most common among teachers. Final considerations: It is highly relevant to understand the difficulties faced by teachers in the performance of their work and the consequences attributed to the quality of teaching, which directly interfere in the development of society since it is through a quality education that establishes the progress of the country.
