The Permanent Education in Health is an essential strategy in the work process for the qualification of education and health management, with a committed, reflexive and competent action, strengthening the Brazilian public health system. Thus, vocational training has come to be recognized as a fundamental component for the consolidation process of the Unified Health System. This study aimed to analyze the scientific production on the Permanent Education in Health in the context of Primary Health Care and its contributions. It is an integrative review of the literature carried out in conventional and virtual libraries, in which 07 articles were carefully selected. The results showed that most of the studies analyzed used active methodologies as a strategy to improve the health work process. The data also pointed out that lifelong education was important for transformations and resolutions of the problems faced in the daily life of the service, contributing to the improvement of the interpersonal relations between members of the primary care team and users of the health system. The research showed the importance of the achievement of Permanent Education in Health in the sphere of primary care. The studies analyzed evidenced the contributions and benefits of permanent education when implanted in the work process, confirming the improvement of the quality of the service to the user and the direction of the practices of the professionals that act in a multidisciplinary way.
